I am a dedicated, versatile designer with an international mindset, skilled in womenswear design, print design, textile surface design, and Adobe softwares. A self-starter who can independently conduct design projects with a given brief, as well as a team player with good communication skills. Always works with a can-do attitude, willing to push the boundaries, and open to a diverse designer role with wide-range tasks.
From 2017 to 2023, I have been professionally trained in the design/atelier departments of several high-end and streetwear brands across London and Amsterdam, including Gareth Pugh, DAVID KOMA, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Safiyaa London, Christiana Hadjipapa, and TOS gallery. I am mainly responsible for womenswear & menswear design (including accessories) with expertises applied such as trend & inspiration & competitor research, design sketching & presentation, textile experiment, hand beading, pattern cutting / draping, toile / sample making, technical drawing, and art direction for photoshoot. I am also working as a freelance designer / technical drawer for multiple clients.
Besides, I have 3 years experience as fashion editor for several leading fashion & lifestyle magazines (ex. Madame Figaro HK). I have been regulerly providing trend analysis, runway show report and digital styling for these sophisticated readers. I also collaborated with Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Chloé, Armani, Cartier and brands alike on their advertisement editorial.
Working in media allows me to observe the fashion industry with a fresh perspective, hence greatly enhances my design sensibility, commercial awareness, and help me gain an insight into the global fashion market. I now understand more about the different approaches used in creative direction, marketing strategy, and customer engagement, which could be very helpful when turning fashion concepts into marketable products as a designer.
